PR TTYDULL,RIGHT?
But boring works. Boring gets sh*t done. Boring can radically transform the world.
Without boring solutions, many coastal communities will continue to have no way to dispose of plastic responsibly. And when plastic has nowhere to go, it ends up in the sea.
To break this cycle, we have to prevent plastic from ever reaching the sea in the first place. The only way to make this possible is to connect all households to proper plastic disposal.
Imagine a sea without life. Pretty dull, right?
Our purpose is to free the sea and protect its vibrancy. We believe the only way to free the sea is by building the boring solutions that no one else does.
The boring solution changing the world.
We connect households to proper waste infrastructure where the systems don’t exist. This means we pick up plastic waste directly from their homes, or they can drop it off at their local Material Hub.
We recycle what we can and everything else is handled responsibly. So when plastic leaves the home, it goes straight into the waste flow – and not into the sea.
Community-powered change
Plastic Keepers are the people on the ground making it all happen. With proper waste infrastructure, powered by local people, we are transforming communities and livelihoods.
Meet your ESG goals or make a personal impact.
Everyone has a role to play in freeing the sea. Brands can support boring solutions for systemic change – meeting ESG goals while creating real, visible and traceable impact.
Individuals can also support the work by donating, supporting us through merchandise that helps fund life-changing infrastructure on the ground, or becoming a Plastic Keeper in Batam.
Plastic is here to stay. Just not in our seas.
We process and transform all kinds of plastic, even the stuff no one wants. By creating products and raw materials, we give old plastic new value.
MEET THE TEAM
An international team building waste infrastructure to stop plastic before it reaches the sea.
Some might say what we do is boring. But we love it. Because we know our solutions work. They have a lasting impact and ultimately Free The Sea.
